Kitap Singh Rai who received 18th Parasmani Puraskar organised by Nepali Sahitya Adhyan Samiti, Kalimpong in the year 2015 passed away on 2nd May of 2016. Celebrated Nepali literary figure of Duars Kitap Singh Rai name was announced for his contribution to Nepali Literature since 50 years . At that time Rai received a shawl, eulogy letter, memento and Rs 15000 cash from the hands of the chief guest MLA Kalimpong Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri .
