Netaji house as Museum in kurseong
DARJEELING: The Process to declare Netaji's family house in Kurseong a heritage is on. The property now houses a Netaji Museum and Centre for Studies in Himalayan Languages, Society and Culture. "Recently, a team from the West Bengal Heritage Commission visited the house. There are talks of declaring the property, a heritage," stated Ganesh Pradhan, the office-in-charge of the Centre. At present, renovation work is going on. In 2017, the State Government had allotted Rs. 10 lakh for its renovation. "Once the repair and restoration work is completed, we will promote the museum and centre. It can be one of the major tourist attractions," stated Joyoshi Das Gupta, District Magistrate, Darjeeling.

"There are many tourist groups arriving on a day tour from Darjeeling. The first stop over for this category of tourists is the Netaji museum enroute to Darjeeling. This time we have had a large number of footfall from Gujarat, Maharashtra and South India," claimed Pradhan. The house located at Giddeypahar, 4 km from Kurseong bears a rich legacy of two great sons of India: Sarat Chandra Bose and Netaji.
